These super stylish retro style mirrors were on-sale at Rev9 and I had to scoop them up. They look the part exactly how I wanted; looking for reference photos I was inspired by /u/fiata90 on Reddit. The mirrors are plastic with chrome coating, holding them they do seem cheaper than they look, but on the car they work perfectly. One quirk of these mirrors is the left and right are the same part, with the mirror just re-oriented 180 degrees, which means the “CORN’s” logo is upside down on one side. Supposedly this engraving choice reduced the manufacturing costs, what a funny decision 😂.
The paint on the original mirrors had been losing its shine, even after some polishing they looked dull compared the the rest of the car.
Use a JIS tip screwdriver to avoid camming out these mounting screws.
There is some flexibility in orienting the bracket with the screw holes, but as-pictured aligned the mirrors where I wanted.
It hasn’t bothered me enough, but I considered scanning the bottom of the mirror mount and design and 3D printing a better fitting plastic gasket.
The front screw adjusts the tension of the mirror adjustment. I left mine just tight enough that they hold their position, but are easy to aim by-hand. After one year they had loosened slightly and needed a half-turn to re-secure them, maybe some blue Loctite will be needed if they rattle loose again.
